Ludisia discolor
Common Name: Jewel Orchid
Ludisia discolor, often called the “Jewel Orchid,” is prized for its luxurious foliage—deep burgundy leaves threaded with fine, shimmering pink or gold veins. Unlike many orchids, this species is grown for its leaves rather than its flowers, though it does produce delicate white blooms on upright spikes. Compact, slow-growing, and tolerant of lower light, Ludisia thrives in warm, humid environments and makes an elegant, understated addition to terrariums, shelves, or mixed tropical displays.
Plants are Grower's Choice and are shipped in their nursery pots. Photos are representative; size and appearance may vary between crops. Minor cosmetic blemishes from natural growth or shipping are normal, particularly on plants with few or large leaves.
