Summary of Key Policies

  • $375 minimum order

1. Becoming a Wholesale Customer

Resale Certificate (ST-3 or ST-3NR)

All wholesale customers must provide a valid resale certificate.

  • NJ businesses: ST-3
  • Out-of-state businesses: ST-3NR

You may email the form in advance or bring it during your first visit. 

Minimum Order Requirement

  • $375 minimum per order (pick-up or delivery).
  • Packaging and delivery fees do not count toward the minimum.
  • Standard case minimums: 4–4.5" plants in 6-count, 6" plants in 3-count.
  • Some high-value items are sold individually; these will be noted on the availability list.

 

2. Availability & Ordering

Weekly Availability

  • New availability is released every Friday or Saturday for the following week.
  • Sign up for our Weekly Availability email below.
  • Ordering early provides the best chance of fulfillment.

Order Deadlines for Delivery

  • Orders for same-week delivery must be placed by Tuesday at 2 PM.
  • Submit completed order forms by email to rburrows@variantplantco.com
  • Orders received after the deadline ship the following week. 

Holding & Guaranteeing Plants

  • Because many items are grown in small batches, availability is not guaranteed until an order is placed.
  • To ensure you receive specific plants, submit your order ahead of your visit.
  • On-site browsing is limited; our technicians will pull plants for you. 

Cancellations

  • Orders canceled after being pulled are subject to a 25% restocking fee.

 

3. Pick-Up Orders

  • Pick-up is available Wednesday–Friday (or Thursday–Friday, depending on scheduling).
  • 48-hour advance notice is required so we can confirm and pull your order.
  • All orders must be pre-booked; full on-site shopping is not permitted.
  • You may add a limited number of items during your scheduled pick-up.
  • Technicians, not customers, pull plants for safety and workflow reasons.
  • Please arrive on time; missed time slots may require rescheduling or cancellation. 

 

4. Delivery Orders

Service Area & Carrier

  • Delivery is available within 100 miles of our greenhouse via Roadie (or a similar plant-friendly courier).
  • Delivery ranges from $50 to 150+, depending on distance and order size.

Delivery Schedule

  • Deliveries occur on Thursday and Friday.
  • Orders are pulled on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Delivery Window & Requirements

  • Deliveries occur between 9 AM and 5 PM.
  • Curbside delivery only.
  • A designated on-site contact and phone number are required.
  • If the courier cannot reach the contact, complete delivery, or unload due to delays outside their control, additional fees may apply. 

Packaging

  • All plants ship in wax tray liners at no additional cost.
  • Delivery orders require boxing; boxes are $6 each.

 

5. Payment Policies

New Customers (No Terms)

  • Payment is required before delivery or at pickup.
  • Accepted payment methods:
    • Check (must be received before delivery is scheduled)
    • ACH / bank deposit (no fee)
    • Credit card (3% processing fee)
  • For ACH or credit card, payment is completed through the invoice link emailed to you. 

Payment Deadlines

  • Delivery orders: Payment must be received at least 2 business days prior to delivery.
  • Late payments secure the plants but may move delivery to the next available date.

Customers With Terms

  • After two successful orders, customers may be eligible for Net 15 terms at our discretion.
  • Payments under terms must be made by check to our Milford, NJ office.
  • We may revoke terms if payments become delinquent.

 

6. Greenhouse Visits

We welcome visitors!

  • Visits must be scheduled and confirmed in advance.
  • Appointments are typically 1 hour and include a guided walk-through with a team member.
  • As we are a production greenhouse, we do not have a retail browsing area.
