Codonanthe devosiana 'Paula'

If ever a plant were to be described as cute, this would be it! A member of the African Violet Family, Codonanthea have a trailing habit with button-shaped leaves and produce beautiful pale lavender flowers. Growing as epiphytes, these plants are pollinated and cared for by tropical tree ants (don't worry, this is a very specific type of ant and the plant does not attract other types). After flowering, a bright orange berry forms which produces seeds that look like a tree ant larva. These are then brought into the ant nest where they are protected until they germinate. We prefer to leave seed production to the ants and make them from cuttings. Native to South America
